Why you cannot sort the "Description" field

Question:
Why can't I sort the "Description" field?

Cause:
The QuoteWerks description field is a "Memo" type database field. Since, memos can contain thousands of characters of data, databases for performance reasons do not support sorting.

Solution:
You can utilize the Medic Utilitiy to Copy the first 255 characters of the Description to a CustomText field. This is accomplished from the Utilities-Data Manager for Product Databases menu. In Version 3.0 you will use the first tab and in Version 4.0 you will use the Pre-Defined Product Database Queries Tab.
